Hello WAAS Parents!

It is hard to believe that we are about at our half way mark for our first nine weeks. Time does pass quickly when we are having fun!  Please check Jupiter Grades for your child’s grades as they will be completely updated by Monday, Sept. 16.
The teachers and I believe that teaching students how to think is critical for 21st Century learners. Therefore, our first Parents’ Seminar will be on Monday evening, September 26 at 7:00-8:15 pm.  I will lead the seminar on how parents can help children develop and strengthen critical thinking skills.   This seminar is open for parents of all grades.  A continuation seminar will be held later, and a date will be determined by the group who attends on Monday, September 26.  Please click on the link below to sign up.  www.SignUpGenius.com/go/30E0F48AEA62BA75-waas8

Thanks to Brent Schraff for leading our WOW (WAAS Outreach on Weekends) Community Focus Project. Initiated and planned by many of our WAAS parents, WOW is intended to provide our students with various opportunties to work as a group and make the service more meaningful. If you and your family are already involved in a community service project, then that is perfectly ok.  Perhaps you’d like to invited others to join you! Students will be asked to document and share… remember to take pictures, if applicable.
Our next window to order WAAS apparel is November 1-15 with delivery guaranteed before Christmas.
Please remember to link your Harris Teeter card to WAAS.  Our number is 2517.

Next week we will begin our Early Enrollment (4th-6th grades) for 2017-2018. Please let me know if you wish to apply for another child.  Please see the website for more information.  Please share this information with friends or family members who might be interested.
