Our Social Studies Teacher – Mr. Ryan Gibble
Hi, my name is Ryan Gibble! I am so excited about getting this opportunity to join the team here at WAAS. I have been teaching for 12 years. I began my journey in education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earning two bachelor’s degrees in both elementary education and history. I have Master’s Degrees in education and history and a license to teach gifted students here in the great state of North Carolina. In the summer, I teach for the Center for Talented Youth (CTY) at John Hopkins University. I have also taught summer courses at the MaSTEM Academy in China. These programs have allowed me to meet students from all over the world, helping me bring new ideas and techniques to my classroom. Although I love to teach, I do try to incorporate some of my other hobbies into my day to day. If I’m not in the classroom, and the weather is nice, you can most likely find me at the beach, and during the cool fall days you can bet I am cheering on my favorite football team, the Carolina Panthers. I consider myself one of the biggest Star Wars fans. Family also plays a special role in my life.
