We will be helping the Miracle League players during a few of their regular softball games. Our students will get to help them run the bases, hit the ball and oversee the players in the dugouts. No softball knowledge is required, and parents are very welcome as there will be lots and lots of players to help.
It is a really fun and rewarding experience and I encourage as many students as possible to attend! There will be an announcer, free food and an opportunity for a few students or parents to be the Miracle League mascot in full dress!
It would be wonderful to see a big turnout from our WAAS community. It would also be very helpful if at least a few parents stayed to oversee our effort. Mark it on your calendars, and email me at brentschraff@gmail.com if you can participate. Our time commitment will be 9:30am to 12:30 p.m. so the three hours will satisfy the semester’s entire community service requirement, but students are also welcome to come for part of the experience!
