Our WAAS middle school students competed in the AMC 8 Math contest on January 27th during their math classes. The students’ results were very impressive, and WAAS earned the School of Merit Award for their performance!

Grade level winners for 6th grade are David You in 1st Place, Breccan Hayes in 2nd Place, and Lucy Yokubaitis in 3rd Place. All three of these students receive the Certificate of Achievement, which is awarded to 6th graders performing exceptionally well. In addition, David was the school runner-up!

Grade level winners for 7th grade are Harsha Bandapalli and Takoda Lac tying for 1st Place, and Perry Tennant and Ira Satyajit tying for 3rd Place.

Grade level winners for 8th grade are Bentley Burton in 1st Place, and James Collins and Harrison Lacy tying for 2nd Place. Bentley is our overall school winner and earned a National Honor Roll Certificate for placing in the Top 5% Nationally! Congratulations to these students and to all of our middle school student competitors for challenging yourselves with problem-solving!
