Dear WAAS Parents!

WAAS is collaborating with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra!

As a part of Explorations this year, students have been learning about composers and music. One of the pieces they will learn about is Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. This piece is inspired by Viktor Hartmann’s paintings. As an art project, WAAS students are going to listen to the composition and create their own artwork to fit the music they will design WAAS Pictures at an Exhibition. The exhibit will take place on Saturday, September 16th at the Wilson Center when the Wilmington Symphony performs the piece on their opening concert of the year. Also featured on the concert is the renowned 14-year old cellist, Ifetayo Ali. (Ifetayo will be coming to WAAS on September 14th to play for the students and parents are invited.)
