Hello WAAS Families and Students!

What a blast Friday evening was!  The students had a marvelous time admiring the different costumes, watching the spooky movies and eating the delicious food.  Thanks to all who donated the items, helped decorate and clean up, and provided transportation for our students to come.  Mrs. Puritis,  Senora Marsh and I enjoyed being with the children on Fright Night!
August Warshauer and Andrei Mistreanu have been added to our A Honor Roll  list. Congratulations to August and Andrei!
We are very proud of our students’ participation and involvement in our   Community Focus projects this first nine weeks. We had more students participate this year!  
Please remember that the WOW (WAAS on Week ends!) provides families and students with additional volunteering opportunities. Students may continue volunteering with their original organizations, or they may choose to join other groups. Many of our parents introduce/suggest ideas and projects for us, and then groups of families meet for breakfast, volunteer and then meet for lunch!
In addition to giving back to our community, many students and families are enjoying the camaraderie of the events.  Thanks to Brent Schraff for organizing the WOW!
In order for us to monitor and give credit for the students’ hours of service, students must fill out a form and submit it to either Senora Marsh or me by 3:00 on the last day of each nine weeks.  This form does require students to answer questions and a parent’s signature.  Forms are available on the counter of the reception desk, and they may be turned in at any time.
Since students have the week of November 21-25 off for the Thanksgiving holidays, please note that our school calendar indicates that November 11 is a school day.
Thank you for the opportunities to share our love for learning with your children.
