Hello WAAS Families, Students and Teachers,

In honor of Veteran’s Day on November 11, I will be collecting needed items for the Sergeant Eugene Ashley Center (the Ashley Center).  The Ashley Center is located in downtown Wilmington and is an 18 month transitional residence and recovery center for homeless veterans.  The Ashley House is owned and operated by the Good Shepherd Center and there are 23 homeless veterans living there.
The items I am collecting include new stamps, socks, underwear, printer cartridges (hp 61 black and color), toiletries (soap, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, etc.), toilet paper, coffee and vitamins.  If you would like to make a donation, there will be a box at the school.  I will deliver the collected items to the Ashley House on Wednesday, November 18.
If your family wants to donate directly to Ashley House (now or any time in the future), they have other needs, too.  They always need blankets, bath towels and wash cloths, sheets, dish towels and clothes (used items are accepted if they are clean).  Your family can make those donations directly to Brian Mansfield at the Sergeant Eugene Ashley Center, 2002 Colwell Avenue in Wilmington, NC (910-362-0292 x 105).
Your donations are appreciated.
Thanks,
Aiden Pomeroy
