Our MathCounts Team  will be competing in the NC MathCounts Competition in Carrboro on Saturday, March 5.  Yasmin Azizi, Zane Dash, Ben Siebold and James Wilt make up the team, and Mr. Simon is WAAS’ MathCounts Coach.  Congratulations!!!
WAAS was proud to offer the hour long space program sponsored by the Morehead Planetarium yesterday. This was a field trip that came to us!  The middle school students learned about Black Holes and the 4th/5th grade students learned about astronauts.

Mrs. Giacomelli and I are attending the NC Gifted Conference in Winston Salem March 2-4.  We are excited to be among  hundreds of educators from across NC who work with gifted children.  We have over 110 sessions  from which to choose led by distinquished researchers and educators  from all over the country.  I will stay in the Chapel Hill area on Friday evening so that I can attend the MathCounts Competition on Saturday.  Parent volunteers will be at the reception desk while I am away.

First Friday is  Friday, March 4.  Since I will be out of town, I will not be available for Ask the Director.

Stay tuned for more wonderful happenings at Wilmington Academy of Arts and Sciences!
