A Message from Brent Schraff….
Hi WAAS Students and Families!
We wanted to let everyone know that we have several WOW opportunities planned from now through the end of the semester to ensure that every student has many chances to get their Community Service hours in!
1)PINK PUMPKIN DECORATING TOMORROW (WED) AFTER SCHOOL!!!!
Tomorrow AND if needed Oct. 7th Danielle Sharpe will be doing Pink Pumpkin decorating for to
help for breast cancer patients when they arrive for exams. Students will be provided pumpkins and can decorate them for the display at Delaney Radiology. This event will go from after school until 4pm where students can be picked up. Please contact dsharpe@delaneyrad.com
if you plan to attend.
2) FIRST FRUIT MINISTRIES THIS SATURDAY SEPT. 30th FROM 10-1pm!!!
We will be working the food pantry at First Fruit on Saturday September 30th from 10am-1pm where students will help prepare the donation food and then actually hand out food, toys and clothes to the pantry visitors. I am still seeking one or two parents who would like to stay and oversee this event.
3) BROOKEDALE SENIOR CENTER FRIDAY OCT. 13th 315-5p
We will be traveling from WAAS to bring refreshments and snacks to the seniors. Students will do a meet and greet over refreshments and then move to the community room where they can continue talking, sing or play music for the Seniors. (Mrs. Upton will give credit for first nine weeks if documentation is faxed or emailed by Monday morning, October 16.)
Please note that WOW is an additional opportunity for students to earn community focus hours.
Students need to earn three hours a nine weeks, and we try to provide them with a variety of opportunities from which to choose.
